For Candidates

Is TrefAJob free for candidates?
Yes. Browsing jobs, creating an account, and applying are all completely free. The only optional paid feature for candidates is our AI Resume Builder ($10 to export your finished resume).
Do I need a resume to apply?
No. You can apply to any job without a resume — but candidates with a resume on file are significantly more likely to hear back. If you don't have one, our AI Resume Builder can put one together for you in minutes.
How does the AI match score work?
When you apply, our AI compares your resume to the job's requirements (experience, education, skills, and description) and gives the employer a compatibility report with a percentage score. Employers see candidates ranked by match — so a strong resume helps you stand out.
Will I get notified when new relevant jobs are posted?
Yes — once you upload a resume and select your industries, we'll email you a daily digest of new matching listings. You can turn off job alert emails anytime from your dashboard.
How will I know if my application was received?
You'll see a confirmation on the job page after applying ("✓ You have applied to this job"). The employer receives your application instantly by email with your resume and AI compatibility report. They reach out directly if interested.
Can I delete or replace my resume?
Yes. From your candidate dashboard, you can replace or remove your resume at any time. Replacing it updates your profile but doesn't affect applications you've already submitted.
How does the AI Resume Builder work?
You answer a 4-step interview (personal info, work experience, education, skills) — totally free. Our AI then generates a polished, professional resume for you to review. If you're happy with it, you pay $10 to export and save it to your profile. You're never charged unless you choose to export.

For Employers

How much does it cost to post a job?
$100 per listing. Listings are active for 30 days from the date of posting. Optional renewal at the end of 30 days for $50.
Is the posting fee refundable?
Job postings are generally non-refundable. If you have an issue with a listing or believe a refund is warranted, please email Admin@TrefAJob.com and we'll look into it.
When am I charged for a listing?
Your card is authorized when you submit the listing, but only charged once the listing is approved. If our automated review flags a posting, our team reviews it within 48 hours — your card is charged only on approval. If we can't approve it, the authorization is voided automatically and you owe nothing.
Can I edit a job after posting it?
Yes — most fields are editable from your employer dashboard. To prevent abuse, the title, company name, industry, and location are locked once a listing is live. For changes to those, contact us.
How do I see who applied?
From your employer dashboard, click "View applicants" on any listing. Each applicant shows their resume, AI-generated compatibility report and match score, candidate summary, and answers to any custom yes/no requirements you set.
Can I add custom screening questions?
Yes. When posting (or editing) a job, you can add yes/no questions like "Do you have a valid driver's license?" or "Can you commute to NYC daily?". Candidates check off their answers when they apply, and you see their responses in the application email and on your dashboard.
How do I delete a listing?
From your employer dashboard, click Delete on any listing. We'll ask for a quick reason (optional) so we can keep improving the platform. Deleted listings are non-refundable.
What happens if I get a low-quality applicant?
You can reject any applicant from your applicants page. They're moved to a "Rejected" tab; the candidate is not notified. You can restore a rejected applicant later if you change your mind.

Is my data private?
Yes. Candidate resumes are only visible to employers whose listings you applied to — never publicly indexed and never shared with third parties. We use industry-standard encryption and authentication. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How are listings reviewed for quality?
Every paid listing is automatically screened by our AI for completeness and red flags. Suspicious listings (vague descriptions, missing key info, scam-like language) are flagged for human review before going live, and rejected within 48 hours if they don't meet our standards.
Can I report a suspicious listing?
Yes — every job page has a 🚩 Report listing button. Tell us what seems wrong and we'll review it.
