Effective Date: May 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Tref A Job LLC ("Trefajob," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use Trefajob.com and any related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are

Trefajob is a job board operated by Tref A Job LLC, a New York limited liability company based in Brooklyn, New York. Employers pay to post jobs on Trefajob; candidates apply for free.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash), and account type (employer or candidate).
  • Candidate information: resume contents (which may include name, contact information, work history, education, skills, and any other information you include in your resume), application messages, and any profile fields you complete.
  • Employer information: company name, contact name, billing address, and the content of job postings you submit.
  • Communications: messages you send to us at Admin@TrefAJob.com and communications you send through the Service.

2.2 Payment Information

Payments for job postings are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you make a payment, you submit your card or bank information directly to Stripe; we do not see or store your full payment card number, CVV, or bank account credentials on our own systems. We receive limited information from Stripe such as the last four digits of your card, card brand, billing ZIP code, and transaction status. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address (typically truncated by our analytics provider), browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP address.
  • Analytics: we use Vercel Analytics, which is a privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics product that collects aggregated visit data without persistent identifiers. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy for details.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: we use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate the Service, including creating and maintaining your account;
  • Allow employers to post jobs and allow candidates to apply to jobs;
  • Transmit candidate applications and resumes to the employers whose job postings the candidate applied to;
  • Process payments through Stripe and keep records of transactions;
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, application receipts, payment receipts, and similar messages);
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service;
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from government authorities;
  • Improve and develop the Service, including by analyzing aggregated usage data.

4. How We Share Information

4.1 With Employers

When a candidate applies to a job posting, the candidate's resume and application are made available to the employer who posted that job. Employers may also see limited profile information (such as the candidate's name and email address) associated with the application. Once a resume has been shared with an employer in connection with an application, we cannot recall it from the employer's records.

4.2 Publicly Visible Information

Job postings are public by default and may be indexed by search engines. Do not include sensitive personal information in a job posting that you would not want to be publicly available.

4.3 With Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who help us run the Service, including:

  • Stripe — payment processing;
  • Vercel — website hosting and analytics;
  • Email-delivery providers — to send transactional emails on our behalf.

These providers are bound by contractual obligations to use the information only as necessary to provide their services to us.

4.4 Legal and Safety

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to (a) comply with applicable law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process; (b) enforce our Terms of Service; (c) protect the security or integrity of the Service; or (d) protect the rights, property, or safety of Trefajob, our users, or the public.

4.5 Business Transfers

If Tref A Job LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users of any such change in ownership or control of personal information.

4.6 We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

Trefajob does not sell personal information for money, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") and the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA").

5. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Job postings are archived rather than deleted when they expire or are removed; archived postings remain in our systems for record-keeping, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, and legal-compliance purposes, and may be retained indefinitely. Resumes and applications are retained for as long as the candidate account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter (typically up to seven years) for legal and compliance purposes. Payment records are retained as required by applicable tax and accounting laws (typically at least seven years).

Where you have a right to deletion under applicable law (see Section 7), we will honor that right subject to our legal obligations to retain certain information.

6. Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS), password hashing, access controls, and reliance on reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage, however, is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

7. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

7.1 Account Controls

You can review and update your account information at any time by signing in to your account. You can close your account by emailing Admin@TrefAJob.com; closing your account does not automatically delete information that we are required to retain, including archived job postings and transaction records.

7.2 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • Right to know — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the business purposes for collection, and the categories of recipients;
  • Right to delete — request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., information needed to complete a transaction, comply with a legal obligation, or detect fraud);
  • Right to correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing — Trefajob does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still submit such a request;
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — Trefajob does not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger this right;
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email Admin@TrefAJob.comwith the subject line "California Privacy Request." We will verify your identity using information associated with your account before processing the request. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; the agent must provide written proof of authorization.

Categories of personal information collected in the preceding twelve (12) months (under CCPA categories): identifiers (name, email, IP address); customer records (billing information held by Stripe); commercial information (transaction history); internet/network activity (usage and analytics data); professional or employment-related information (resumes, job postings); and inferences drawn from the foregoing only to the extent reasonably necessary to operate the Service.

7.3 Other U.S. State Residents

Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (including, without limitation, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and Texas) may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain processing of their personal information. To exercise any such right, email Admin@TrefAJob.com.

8. Children's Privacy

Trefajob is not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact Admin@TrefAJob.com and we will take steps to delete that information and close any associated account.

9. International Users

The Service is intended for users located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from those of your jurisdiction.

10. Third-Party Links

Job postings and other content on the Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Policy on the Service and update the Effective Date above. If the changes are significant, we will provide additional notice (such as by email or an in-product banner). Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
